Quoting & Estimates

Generating and sending an estimate

Turn an appraisal into a priced estimate and send it to the customer by email or SMS.

Updated 12 July 2026 · 2 min read

Once you've appraised a job, VanMan can build a priced estimate from the detected items and send it straight to the customer.

Build the estimate from the appraisal

From the appraisal, VanMan builds an estimate by mapping each detected item to your materials and pricing. This mapping is driven by your Appraisal Templates, so the estimate reflects the way you actually quote. With Automatic Basic Appraisal enabled, an estimate is pre-filled for you as soon as the appraisal runs.

Review and adjust

Treat the generated estimate as a working draft. Check that the mapped items, quantities and pricing look right for this move, and adjust anything that doesn't fit before it goes out. Because the estimate is built from the appraisal, correcting item detections and conditions earlier flows through to a more accurate quote here.

Send the estimate

When you're happy with it, use Send Estimate to deliver the quote to the customer.

Choose how to send

Send the estimate using your email or SMS templates, depending on how the customer prefers to hear from you.

Check the message

Estimate-specific template placeholders fill in the relevant details for you. Review the message so it reads correctly before it's sent.

Send Estimate

Select Send Estimate to deliver the quote to the customer.

Estimates map items to materials and pricing through your Appraisal Templates. If a quote looks off, check that the relevant template is set up correctly.
