Customer photo capture with a QR code

Let desktop customers hand off to their phone to photograph rooms, so AI builds an itemised move for you.

Updated 12 July 2026 · 2 min read

When a customer fills in a booking form on desktop, VanMan can show a QR code that hands the job off to their phone. This gives you an itemised move straight from the customer, without your team having to build the inventory by hand.

How the handoff works

The QR code bridges the desktop form and the customer's phone camera, then brings everything back together in one booking.

Customer scans the QR code

On the desktop form, the customer scans the QR code with their phone. This opens a mobile capture page.

They photograph their rooms

On the capture page the customer photographs each of their rooms. VanMan's AI analyses the items in the photos automatically.

They confirm rooms and items

The customer reviews what the AI found and confirms the rooms and items, correcting anything that is not quite right.

They complete the mobile booking form

Finally, the customer completes a mobile booking form that is pre-filled from what they already entered on desktop, so they do not repeat themselves.

To offer this, enable the QR code and AI photo capture toggles on your form under Settings → Booking Forms.

Because the inventory arrives itemised, your quotes and volume estimates start closer to the mark, which means less back-and-forth before the job is confirmed.
